Again, herdsmen attack Benue community, kill 2

Some men suspected to be Fulani herdsmen, on Sunday night, attacked a community in Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State, killing two persons.

DAILY POST gathered that the victims identified as Agness Salahu, 28; and Ademu Efugoga, 25, were attacked between Egba and Ogbaulu communities of Agatu on their way from an event around 6pm.

A cousin to the deceased, Barrister Napoleon Otache, who confirmed the incident to DAILY POST, lamented that Agatu is currently under siege.

Otache decried the lack of security presence in the area while the attackers continue to unleash terror on the land.

“This insecurity in our land has assumed a dangerous dimension.

“Help of the federal government is urgently needed as Agatu and Apa enclave has been under siege by the fulani terrorists.”

Meanwhile concerted efforts made to confirm the incident from Benue State Police Command PRO, SP Catherine Anene, proved fruitless.
