Kidnappers gun down Babcock University professor, abduct two others

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have killed Yinka Olomojobi, a professor of law at Babcock University, Ilisha, Ogun, and abducted two others.

The unfortunate incident occurred on Friday when the assailants invaded the Iperu area of the state.

According to reports, the kidnappers intended to abduct Olomojobi, but he was shot dead for allegedly refusing to be taken away.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, who confirmed the report, said one person had been arrested in connection with the incident.

“A suspicious coincidence led the police to arrest one Awada Ishaya of Plateau State, who was employed two weeks ago when the event center was launched as a security man, for further interrogation,” Odutola said.
