The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth C. Igweh, has announced that the command has received the N20 million bounty previously offered by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for the capture of two notorious kidnappers.

This revelation was made in a statement issued on Thursday by the command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh. Adeh conveyed the commissioner’s gratitude on behalf of the FCT Police Command for Minister Wike’s generous gesture.

The bounty, announced by the Minister on February 14, 2024, targeted two highly wanted kidnappers in the FCT, both of whom have since been apprehended by FCT command operatives. CP Igweh emphasized that such proactive measures underscore the Minister’s dedication to ensuring the security and safety of FCT residents.

The CP further assured that the allocated funds have been equitably distributed among tactical teams and divisional police officers within the command to enhance service delivery. He reiterated the commitment of the command under his leadership to tirelessly combat crime and uphold security in the nation’s capital, reaffirming the command’s dedication to fulfilling its mandate.
