Ajaero not working for APC, says NLC

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has strongly opposed the allegations made on Tuesday by the Labour Party leadership, accusing its President, Joe Ajaero, of colluding with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to undermine the Labour Party’s stability.

Obiora Ifoh, the National Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party, claimed in a statement that Ajaero instructed the NLC to orchestrate a crisis within the LP to disrupt its preparations for the 2027 general elections. However, on Thursday, Prof. Theophilus Ndubuaku, the Deputy President of the NLC Political Commission, refuted these allegations, asserting that Ajaero is not aligned with the ruling APC.

Ndubuaku questioned the credibility of the accusation, highlighting the perilous situation Ajaero faced in Imo State, where he narrowly escaped harm. He deemed the notion of Ajaero collaborating with the APC as ludicrous, emphasizing Ajaero’s significant role in the Nigerian labour movement and the NLC’s commitment to maturity in handling such matters.

He dismissed any suggestion that Ajaero could be affiliated with the APC, affirming his prominent position within the Nigerian labour movement.
