The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has introduced a new dress code for Consumer Protection Officers stationed at the country’s airports.
According to Michael Achimugu, the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at NCAA, the initiative aims to enhance service delivery and increase the visibility of officers when addressing complaints.
Achimugu explained that this rebranding effort includes improved staff welfare, training, and reorientation to ensure better performance.
The initiative aligns with the five-point agenda of the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, SAN, CON, FCIArb (UK), which emphasizes passenger rights, privileges, and responsibilities.
He emphasized the authority’s commitment to prioritizing consumer complaints, ensuring that passengers are well-informed about their rights and responsibilities before, during, and after flights.
Additionally, Achimugu highlighted the proactive approach of the Consumer Protection department, which swiftly addresses genuine complaints.
Consumers were urged to engage civilly and use the appropriate channels to lodge complaints, assuring them that their concerns would be addressed promptly.
Furthermore, Achimugu reiterated the minister’s directive to handle all complaints seriously and resolve them within a reasonable timeframe.
