Ogun gov appoints Onasanya as Head of service

The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, has sanctioned the appointment of Mr. Kehinde Onasanya as the new Head of Service for the state. This announcement was made in a statement issued on Monday by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi.

The statement highlighted that Onasanya succeeds Mr. Kolawole Fagbohun, who retired after a distinguished service tenure. Prior to his new role, Onasanya held the position of Permanent Secretary at the Bureau of Political Affairs and Administration.

Having commenced his civil service journey as an Information Officer, Grade Level 8, on December 2, 1993, Onasanya steadily ascended the ranks to become a director on GL 17 before his appointment as Permanent Secretary on October 2, 2020.

The statement further described Onasanya as a consummate professional, esteemed media manager, and proficient administrator.

He holds membership in various professional bodies, including the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) and is an Associate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations.

Throughout his tenure as Permanent Secretary, Onasanya has served across multiple agencies, including the Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, and the Bureau of Political Affairs and Administration.

Additionally, Onasanya has been honored with notable accolades, including the prestigious Ogun State Award in May 2006 and first runner-up in the subsequent year.

He was also recognized as the best reporter in the House of Assembly Category in 1999 by the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Ogun State Council.
