Police storm suspected kidnappers’ hideouts in Abuja

On Monday, the FCT Police Command conducted a raid on suspected kidnappers’ hideouts and routes in the hills and dense bushes surrounding Apo Resettlement in Abuja. This operation was led by the Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth Igweh, himself, as disclosed in a statement by the command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, on Wednesday.

The statement outlined that the operation, carried out on April 1, 2024, around 11 am, aimed to establish enhanced security measures in the area, identified as potential kidnappers’ routes and criminal hideouts. It involved clearing illegal structures and bushes surrounding Zone A and B of Apo Resettlement and its environs.

Furthermore, the operation included proactive deployment of police operatives for surveillance patrol, ensuring thorough monitoring of entry and exit routes to the hills. CP Igweh emphasized the importance of community vigilance and urged residents to promptly report any suspicious activities to the police.
