The family of Sheikh Dahiru Usman-Bauchi, a prominent Islamic scholar and leader of the Sufism Tijjaniyya Movement in Nigeria, has dismissed reports suggesting his death as misleading.
Contrary to rumors circulating in the early hours of Wednesday, a family member, Sanusi Dahiru, confirmed that the 97-year-old scholar is alive and well. He stated that Sheikh Dahiru Usman-Bauchi is in good health and currently in Abuja.
Sanusi Dahiru added that the Sheikh plans to travel to Kaduna on Thursday for the closing ceremony of the annual Qur’an Tafsir, where he is represented by his son, Dr. Sulumbai Dahiru.
He urged the public to disregard the false reports and assured that Sheikh Dahiru Usman-Bauchi is alive and in good health despite his age. He also encouraged the Muslim community to pray for the continued well-being of the respected cleric.
