Confusion as man dies in car during Good Friday service

Panic ensued on Friday following the discovery of a middle-aged man, known only as AJ, found deceased in his car at Mechanic Village in the Idimu area of Lagos State.

Reports indicate that AJ, a member of a church in the vicinity, was attending the Good Friday service when the tragic incident occurred.

According to an eyewitness who spoke anonymously, AJ had stepped out of the service momentarily to retrieve something from his parked car on the premises. Another church member, noticing AJ in the car later, attempted to engage him in conversation but received no response.

Upon closer inspection, it was discovered that AJ was motionless in the vehicle. Efforts to revive him were futile, as he was found foaming from the mouth, indicating his passing.

The incident caused apprehension in the community, leading to an abrupt end to the church service. AJ’s wife, who was also present, received support from fellow female members. Lukmon Salako, a mechanic in the area, described the somber mood among church members and the consoling of AJ’s wife. AJ’s body was transported in his car to the nearest hospital, where he was pronounced dead by the attending doctor.

When reached for comment, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, stated he was unaware of the incident.
