Chief Press Secretary of Kogi state, Onogwu Muhammed stated on Monday that Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello has signed five Bills into law.
Onogwu, in a statement, praised Governor Bello for signing several bills into law, including establishing a health science and technology college, providing for the retirement of teachers, establishing a roads fund management board, and allowing the peaceful celebration of cultural festivals. The bills aim to advance cultural development, maintain peace and security, and manage the development of roads in Kogi State.
The signing ceremony, which took place at the Government House in Lokoja, was attended by esteemed dignitaries, including the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, the Attorney General, and the Secretary to the Kogi State Government.
Governor Bello emphasized the importance of the bills in improving rural infrastructure and transforming the state. He praised the Kogi State House of Assembly for their exceptional performance and commended the state Attorney General for ensuring compliance with existing laws.
The Speaker of the Kogi House of Assembly, Mr Mathew Kolawole, expressed his delight that the bills were passed and signed into law. He commended Governor Bello for promoting a harmonious working relationship between the executive and the legislature and fostering a peaceful atmosphere.
The Speaker also praised the governor’s commitment to enacting these laws as a sign of his dedication to the development and progress of Kogi State.
