There was tension in Ugbolu community, near Asaba, Delta State, after a security officer and one other person were reportedly killed by suspected hoodlums.

City Round gathered that the hoodlums, suspected to be members of the Independent People of Biafra, invaded the community and killed the two victims in the early hours of Friday.

The officer was reportedly beheaded and burnt to death along Ugbolu Road, while the civilian was stabbed to death.

Our correspondent gathered that the hoodlums were chanting ‘no election,’ as they killed their victims.

The dead bodies were found along Ugbolu Road around 7.30am near the 63 Brigade, Nigerian Army headquarters.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident but said only one body was found.

Edafe said the details of the killing of the unidentified man had yet to be ascertained.

“We are investigating the matter,” he added.
