The Nigerian Civil Society Movement has commended the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) for conferring the Prestigious Award of ICON AND CYNOSURE OF SOCIETAL TRANSFORMATION on the Director General of the National Pension Commission, Hajia Aisha Dahir-Umar.
This commendation was made last weekend after a Roundtable of Twenty Civil Societies in Lagos.
The Spokesperson of the Group Dr. Kayode Olufemi Jacobs lauded NANS for recognising the contributions of eminent citizens like Aisha Dahir-Umar to national Development, Education, Growth and Good Governance.
He noted that the current leadership of NANS is doubtlessly refocusing the Association for optimal impact and integrity.
While Congratulating Aisha Dahir-Umar, the group maintained that the award was well deserved considering the numerous pro-citizens policy being implemented during her tenure as DG PenCom, especially the Micro-Pension Plan and Contributory Pension Scheme, which seeks to alleviate old age miseries for countless citizens.
The group therefore called on NANS to sustain such initiatives that will encourage other Nigerians to commit themselves to national developmental efforts.
Recall that the National Association of Nigerian Students ( NANS ) had on 17th February 2023 conferred on Hajia Aisha Dahir-Umar an Award as Icon and Cynosure of Societal Transformation in recognition of her professional service delivery towards purposeful leadership and educational transformation.
