North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un has reportedly banned the broadcast of Tottenham Hotspur matches in the country, according to the UK Sun.
The decision stems from Kim Jong-Un’s stance against airing games featuring South Korean players.
Tottenham, currently captained by South Korea’s Son Heung-min, is among the teams affected.
This restriction means the North Korean leader will be unable to watch his favourite club, Manchester United, face Tottenham in a highly anticipated Premier League clash on Saturday evening.
A similar policy was enforced last season when Wolverhampton Wanderers’ matches were excluded from North Korean broadcasts due to the presence of South Korean forward Hwang Hee-chan. Brentford, home to defender Kim Ji-soo, also faced a blackout.
Premier League coverage in North Korea is heavily controlled, with match durations reduced from 90 minutes to 60.
Additionally, games are aired only after news bulletins—often as late as four months after they originally take place.
