Nigerian content creator, Ganiyu Kehinde Morufu, better known as Ijoba Lande, has called out controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, for composing a song about his troubled marriage.
The drama started after Lande and his estranged wife, Dara, were caught in an infidelity scandal.
Lande had earlier claimed that, aside from his colleague Baba Tee, who publicly admitted to having a short sexual encounter with his wife, he also had eight different videos of other men involved with her.
Following the controversy, Portable released a song about the scandal, a move that didn’t go down well with Lande.
In a video posted on his social media page on Tuesday, the skit maker expressed his anger, warning the singer that he would face consequences for mocking his family.
He said, “Portable, I see all the nonsense you are doing. You are using my life story to sing. You will pay for it. When they slept with one of your wives the other time, you were crying all over the internet. Don’t worry, you will pay for it.”
The drama has attracted mixed reactions, with some mocking the situation while others criticized Lande for making his private life public.
touch7printing_conceptz described Portable as “Olorin state of emergency,” suggesting that his involvement in controversies has reached a critical level.
eniola_ajao, a Nollywood actress, jokingly reacted to the drama with the phrase “Alubomuu Lori oro mi,” meaning “Lande’s story has now turned into an album.”
markointernationallimited referenced a classic song by Ebenezer Obey, “Aiye Latiba Aiye Laofisilesi,” which loosely translates to “We met it in life, and it is life we are going to leave it.”
basty_bt playfully warned Ijoba Lande not to allow the issue to escalate, joking that people might even release an album about his marital scandal.
omomajoralagbodubai bluntly criticised Ijoba Lande, saying he brought his issues to social media, so people have every right to discuss them. He wrote, “Na you bring your matter to social media, anyone can use it… next time fight your fight for house. Or walk away from the marriage.”
