Popular Nigerian actor and filmmaker, Ibrahim Yekini better known as Itele has responded to recent criticism from certain fans over his public praise of music artist Wizkid.

Itele advised his Instagram fans not to bash one another over his musical tastes.

He explained that he has always been open about expressing support for the people and things he cares about, and currently, that includes Wizkid.

Itele told his devoted followers that his enthusiasm for Wizkid’s music does not imply that he has abandoned his typical musical preferences.

He asked his supporters to express love and optimism rather than criticize his decisions.

“I’ve been noticing some reactions lately because I’ve been posting Wizkid’s music. To those who feel upset, I want to say this: we shouldn’t attack each other just because I chose my favorite artist. If you know me well, you’ll understand that this is my style. I love something or someone, and I show it openly. That’s how I believe love should be expressed.

“For my true supporters, you’ll know that I often use different music on my page, and it’s always been about sharing what inspires me. So please, don’t dislike me for loving Wizkid! And don’t stop loving me for being true to myself.

“At the end of the day, it’s all about love and positivity. Let’s spread more of that. Fam, the next slide is the message behind this caption”, he wrote on Instagram.
