Nigerian singer Shallipopi has revealed that he did menial jobs and even performed for N5,000 before his rise to fame.

Shallipopi, whose real name is Crown Uzama, is known for his 2023 single ‘Elon Musk’ and singing in the Amapiano and Afrobeats genre.

Taking to his official X handle on Saturday, the artiste disclosed that he has travelled to Nigeria’s 36 states touring to eat.

Shallipopi also revealed some of the menial jobs he has done to survive, including being a bricklayer, a painter, and performing in clubs for N5,000.

“I have been to the 36 states of Nigeria touring towns to eat, I nor know which part of Nigeria you come from, but u nor suppose dey talk to me about shame, buckle up this country nor dey laugh with anybody! Period!!!

“I don do bricklayer, painter, we don work for workshop, i don do POP, I don do plastering work, I don dey run commot house for night go club jokers for Benin go dey freestyle just to carry 5k reach house come give my mummy,” the social media post reads.
