Akwa Ibom State Police Apprehend Son for Murdering 70-Year-Old Mother

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has apprehended Inyangake James Peter, a 40-year-old man, for the brutal killing of his biological mother, Mma-Offiong James Peter, aged about 70 years. The tragic incident occurred on April 4, 2024, around 9:00 am in Ikpe Annang Village, located in Etim Ekpo Local Government Area.

According to reports from the Police Public Relations Officer, Odiko Macdon, the suspect was taken into custody on the aforementioned date and time. In his confession to the police, Peter claimed that he acted upon hearing a persistent voice urging him to commit the heinous act.

Following his arrest, Inyangake James Peter has been transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation into the matter. The police statement emphasized the gravity of the crime and the need for a thorough examination of the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
