Ecobank Group strengthens leadership team with strategic top-level appointments

Ecobank Plc has announced significant appointments of senior executives aimed at fortifying the Group’s leadership team and advancing the implementation of its new Growth, Transformation, and Returns (GTR) strategy.

Among the newly appointed executives is Abena Osei-Poku, who assumes the role of Regional Executive for Anglophone West Africa and Managing Director of Ecobank Ghana. Osei-Poku, a seasoned Pan-African business leader with over 25 years of experience in the financial services sector, joined Ecobank in January.

Martin Miruka has been appointed as Group Executive for Transformation, Enablement, and Customer Experience. With a career spanning 25 years, Miruka, who joined Ecobank in February, brings a wealth of expertise as a C-suite executive, business strategist, serial entrepreneur, and angel investor, with a strong track record in pan-African transformation. His prior roles include Group Head of Business Transformation, Customer Experience, and Innovation at Equity Group Holdings.

Anup Suri has been tasked with overseeing commercial and consumer businesses. Suri commenced his new role in March, leveraging over 30 years of senior leadership experience across diverse industries and organizations spanning Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, the UK, North America, and South America.

He joins Ecobank Group from HSBC Group, where he served as Managing Director, Global Head of Retail Sales, and Third-Party Distribution.
