#October1protest: Security agents take over Eagles Square in Abuja

Security personnel set up multiple roadblocks on roads leading to Eagle Square in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on Tuesday. This caused difficulties for commuters and journalists attempting to access the area.

Upon arriving at Eagle Square, our correspondent noticed a significant presence of security personnel both inside and outside the facility. This heavy deployment was reportedly aimed at discouraging protesters from using the venue, despite it not being utilized for the Independence Day celebrations.

It is worth noting that the organizers of the protest had previously expressed interest in using Eagle Square. However, during the protest that took place between August 1 and 10, security operatives resisted attempts to use the facility.
