Ogun PDP Youth Leader Defects to APC

The youth leader of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Ogun State, Oyejide Sunkanmi, popularly known as SUCO, has defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

Sunkanmi, on Monday, tendered his resignation in a letter addressed to the party chairman, Abayomi Tella.

He appreciated the party for shaping him politically and asked for understanding regarding his decision

The letter reads: “I write to formally tender my resignation as a member of the Ogun State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

“It has been a remarkable and fulfilling 12-year journey. I am sincerely grateful to the leadership of the party for the opportunity to serve in various capacities during my time in the PDP. The experience has shaped me politically and personally, and for that, I remain thankful.

“I wish to express my profound appreciation to Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, Hon. Abayomi Tella, Chief Robert Adenaike, Hon. Remi Odubote, Chief Olumide Aderinokun, Prince Lekan Tejuosho, Chief Mrs. Olabosipo Ogunsan, Ambassador Folake Marcus Bello, Hon. Abiodun Ogunremi, my brother Prince Sunday Sholarin, and Hon. Yussuf Oshunrinde for their unwavering support and encouragement throughout my stay in the party.”

Admitting that his decision might cause disappointment, he added: “I understand that this decision may not sit well with everyone. To those who may feel disappointed, I humbly ask for your understanding. Decisions such as this are never taken lightly.”
