Remo Stars appoint new technical adviser

Remo Stars, Nigeria Professional League (NPFL) champions, have appointed Usman Abd’Allah as technical adviser.

The Ikenne-based club announced Abd’Allah’s appointment on Thursday.

Abd’Allah starts his role with immediate effect as the club looks to improve on its poor run of form, but the length of the contract was not revealed.

“We are pleased to announce the appointment of Usman Abd’Allah as the Technical Adviser of the club,” the statement reads.

“This appointment is with immediate effect as it is expected to mark a significant step in the club’s vision to elevate its performance.”

Remo Stars have one win in 11 matches, are rooted to the bottom of the NPFL table with 27 points from 27 matches, and, according to the club’s statement, Abd’Allah’s wealth of experience with the Super Eagles, Kano Pillars, and Enyimba is expected to yield an immediate turn in fortune.

“Under his guidance, Enyimba reached the semi-finals of the CAF Confederations Cup, narrowly losing to Morocco’s Raja Casablanca. He also led Enyimba to the NPFL title in the 2018/19 season,” the statement reads.

“Usman Abd’Allah combines international exposure with deep knowledge of Nigerian football, making him well-positioned to lead the Sky Blue Stars.

“Remo Stars looks forward to exciting moments under Abd’Allah’s leadership.”

Remo Stars have not issued any communication regarding the latest appointment affecting Daniel Ogunmodede’s role as the team’s head coach.

Ogunmodede led the club to its first-ever NPFL title last season, and it is expected that he will work alongside Abd’Allah to return the team to its previous glory.
