Kebbi explosion not caused by bomb- Police
The Kebbi State Police Command has clarified that the explosion at General Hospital, Bagudo, on December 30, 2025, was not caused by a bomb or helicopter, as circulating rumours suggested.
Police investigations, aided by Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (EOD-CBRN) experts, determined that the blast was triggered by overheated gas cylinders in air-conditioning units and refrigerators.
No casualties were reported, and authorities have confirmed that the situation is under control.
Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bashir Usman Anisma, urged the public to ignore unverified social media claims and rely solely on official communications. The Command added that safety measures have been implemented to prevent similar incidents in the future.
