PDP lacks moral rights to advise Tinubu on governance – Group

In a detailed critique, the Democratic Front (TDF) has strongly criticized the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), arguing that PDP lacks the moral high ground to offer advice to President Bola Tinubu on governance or claim expertise in qqfixing the nation’s economy, given its history of overseeing economic ruin over a 16-year period.

The joint statement from TDF’s Chairman, Danjuma Mohammed, and Secretary, Wale Adedayo, was issued in response to PDP’s recent communique from its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting. TDF emphasized that Nigeria is still grappling with the fallout from the economic mismanagement during PDP’s rule, underscoring the severe challenges faced by the country due to the previous administration’s policies.

TDF pointed out the irony in PDP’s attempt to offer economic advice, urging the party to acknowledge its past failures and show contrition for its role in impeding the nation’s progress. The group criticized PDP for displaying insensitivity to the consequences of its actions and questioned the party’s credibility in commenting on economic matters.

Moreover, TDF expressed dismay at PDP’s audacity in questioning President Tinubu’s economic initiatives, given PDP’s poor track record while in power. The group suggested that PDP should focus on addressing its internal issues and rebuilding its credibility before engaging in discussions about the nation’s economic future.

In closing, TDF stressed that the memory of PDP’s failures and mismanagement remains fresh in the minds of Nigerians. The group urged PDP to reflect on its past actions and demonstrate genuine remorse and accountability before attempting to offer guidance on the nation’s economic direction.
