Ogun passenger attacks okada rider with razor blade, inflicts neck injuries

Sherif Oyeniyi, an Ogun State resident, inflicted bodily injury with a razor blade on Ahmed Owolabi, a 27-year-old motorcyclist from the Onimane Magada Ibafo region of the state.

This incident occurred on Saturday and was reported to operatives of the Ogun State Police Command by the brother of the injured motorcyclist, Alani Muritala.

Muritala informed the police on Saturday that Owolabi was conveying Sherif to his destination in Arepo when Sherif attacked him with a razor blade, inflicting severe deep cuts on his neck in two separate locations.

Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson of the Ogun State Police Command, noted that a police operative in Arepo transported the injured motorcyclist to the hospital when alerted.

Odutola stated, “The Divisional Police Officer, when alerted, quickly transported the victim to a hospital for medical attention, and the suspect has been taken into custody for questioning.”

She added that Oyeniyi showed no remorse after committing the act and refused to provide reasons for harming the 27-year-old motorcyclist.

“Notably, the suspect displayed no remorse for his actions but muttered that he had earlier visited a seer, otherwise known as a voodoo doctor. He was interrogated about whether the doctor required a blood token or initiation, and he replied by saying, ‘It was the devil’s handiwork.’

“The Divisional Crime Branch is conducting an investigation, and the suspect will be charged to court as soon as the investigation is completed.”
