Tragedy struck in western Mexico on Sunday as a small plane, identified as a Cessna 207, crashed in a dense forest in Jalisco, resulting in the loss of at least seven lives.

Jalisco Civil Protection said via its social media that the aircraft crashed in a terrain difficult to access.
According to the agency, initial authorities on the scene “reported a preliminary count of seven people dead.”
The bodies haven’t been identified yet.
It said, “This Sunday afternoon, a Cessna 207 small plane, from La Parota, Michoacán, suffered a plane accident, collapsing in a wooded area that was difficult to access.
“Jalisco Civil Protection personnel, in coordination with authorities from Quitupan and Mazamitla, went to the site, in an area near the town of “Palo Verde”, municipality of Quitupan, to attend to the emergency.
“Police authorities who initially arrived, preliminarily reported the death of 7 people (without identifying information about them).
“SEDENA troops also participate in guarding the site of the incident.
“Work was done to extinguish the fire and risk mitigation was carried out to prevent possible additional damage.
“At the moment they are waiting for the forensic authority to proceed with the removal of the bodies and rule out the presence of more victims.”
