Tinubu Govt To Spend N298Million On Vice President’s Guest House Renovation While N15Trillion Is Slated For Debt Servicing

A review of the proposed 2025 budget currently before the National Assembly has shown that the Nigerian government plans to spend N298.3 million to renovate the Vice President’s guest house in 2025.

Also, the government plans to spend N466.8 million on the renovation of the Vice President quarters at the State House, Presidential Villa.

This expenditure comes amid promises of the government to ensure prudence in the management of resources.

Already, data published by public payments portal Govspend show that in August 2024, the Presidency spent N156.5 million on the renovation of presidential quarters.

A SaharaReporters’ review of the data published by Open Treasury Portal, earlier showed that in May 2024, President Bola Tinubu’s administration spent N3.6 billion on the rehabilitation/renovation of residential buildings. Another sum of N8.5 billion was spent on the provision/construction of office buildings in May 2024, totalling N12.1 billion.
