Edo Deputy Governor Picks Aghedo As Chief Press Secretary

Edo State deputy governor, Rt Hon Dennis Idahosa, has announced his long-time media aide, Friday Aghedo as his chief press secretary.

This was contained in a letter signed by the secretary to Edo State government, Barr Musa Ikhilor.
According to the letter, the appointment takes effect from December 2, 2024.

Aghedo is bringing on board his wealth of experience in media handling and leadership skills.
Aghedo has been working with his principal in the same capacity since 2019 following his (Dennis Idahosa’s) election into the House of Representatives and up until his emergence as the deputy governor.
Aghedo had also served as the press secretary to the chairman of Ovia South West local government area.

He also served as deputy director, New Media Committee of the All Progressives Congress Governorship Campaign Council where he worked tirelessly for the victory of Governor Monday Okpbebholo.
Married with children, Aghedo holds a BSc [Ed] in Political Science and Public Administration from the University of Benin (UniBen).

Before his appointment as the deputy governor’s chief press secretary, Aghedo, in addition to his previous positions, is a blogger and publisher of an online platform.

He has numerous awards to his credit, including ASMIIN Blogger Of the year Award (2021).
