An ex-convict, Samuel Agbaje, and an accomplice, Obia Moses have been arrested by police in Lagos for stealing the main gate of a residential building at Adeniyi Jones, Ikeja area of the state.
In a statement, the police said operatives of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) on night patrol arrested the duo around 3:00 am on Tuesday in Adeniyi Jones, Ikeja.
The police said the 23-year-old Agbaje was released from Kirikiri Medium Prison in October 2024.
“Agbaje and his accomplice, Obia Moses were arrested in Adeniyi Jones, Ikeja by RRS operatives on night patrol.
“The suspects were arrested early Tuesday morning after stealing half of the main gate of a residential building in the area.
“They were thereafter led to the scene of the theft. The residents were shocked that the suspects removed their building entrance gate without any of them knowing.
“Agbaje and Obia confessed that they were taking the gate to Agege where they intend selling it,” the police said.
The Commander, Rapid Response Squad (RRS), CSP Shola Jejeloye has directed that the suspects be charged to court immediately.
