Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has commiserated with the state’s traditional institution and the people of Ajase-Ipo of Irepodun local government area on the passage of the Olupo of Ajase-Ipo Oba Sikiru Atanda Woleola (Ilufemiloye II).

This was contained in a statement signed by Rafiu Ajakaye, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor and made available to AFFAIRS TV.
 
The statement reads “His Excellency the Governor received the news of the passage on Sunday night of his Royal Highness the Olupo of Ajase-Ipo with sadness and equanimity as we are constantly subject to the will of the Almighty Allaah. The Olupo was a great man, a lover of his people, and an inimitable king under whom his people and community blossomed. His disposition to peace, harmony and development explains the love and wide acceptance he enjoyed from far and wide as a monarch” .
 
“On behalf of the people and government of Kwara State, the Governor commiserates with the Kwara State Council of Chiefs led by his Royal Highness the Emir of Ilorin, the Irepodun Traditional Council, the people of Ajase-Ipo, the immediate and extended royal families of the ancient town, and friends and associates of the Olupo on this sad development.

He prayed that the Almighty Allah will repose the soul of the monarch, and grant the community the fortitude to bear the loss.

Also, the kwara State Caretaker Committee of All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that it has been grief-stricken over the death of the highly revered Olupo of Ajase-Ipo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Sikiru Atanda Woleola (Ilufemiloye11), describing it as an irreparable loss to kwara State.

The State Caretaker Committee Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Samanri in a  statement issued by the party, described the traditional ruler as an extraordinary and exceptionally loved monarch, who served his people with utmost dedication and spent his life in the pursuit of their happiness as well as the wellbeing and peaceful coexistence of all Kwarans.

The late Olupo, according to Samanri was a selfless leader and outstanding nationalist, who made immeasurable sacrifices in his relentless roles towards the development and stability of our dear state, and demonstrated that the essence of statesmanship is in employing its values to the advantage of others rather than the self.

” The APC commiserates with Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and the government of Kwara state; the family of the departed Oba as well as the good people of Igbomina land  and prays the Almighty Allah to console them and grant the faithful departed an eternal rest,” the statement said.
