In Benin Republic, the Nigerian U-20 national team at the West African Football Union (WAFU) B tournament drew 1-1 with Ivory Coast at the Stade de Galles on Sunday.
Christopher Nwaeze put the Flying Eagles on the front foot from Wisdom Ubani’s free-kick.
Nwaeze was, however, sent off after picking up a second yellow card in the 71st minute, reducing the Ladan Bosso’s boy to 10 men.
The baby elephants were able to grind out a result by leveling the scoreline in the first minute of additional time.
The Flying Eagles will face Ghana in the second game of group B at the same match venue on Wednesday.
