The training of the Special Weapons And Tactics Squad, a police unit created to replace the disbanded SARS, has officially commenced.
It could be recalled the SWAT unit was created following protest from young Nigerians to #EndSars due to police brutality and other forms of gross human rights abuses.
It was gathered that the personnel who are over 400 have been undergoing training for weeks at the Police Mobile College in Eggon, Nasarawa State which is the second location of the SWAT personnel training in the country.
A video of the SWAT training has gone viral on social media with the minister of police Affairs inspecting the SWAT officers as they engage in rigorous trainings.
A lot of mixed reactions were raised by social media users which many were positive with the hope that the SWAT will maintain adequate security and protection of lives of citizens most importantly the lives of Youths.
