The Senator Representing Osun West Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Adelere Oriolowo has condemned the attack on the Governor of Osun State, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, by hoodlums while addressing the #EndSARS protesters.

This was conatined in a statement made available to Affairs TV by the media aide to the Senator, Oluniyi Isamotu.

The statement reads in part “I condemn in strongest terms the attack on Governor Gboyega Oyetola during his solidarity walk with #EndSARS protesters in Osogbo yesterday”

Events like this erode the gains made by our hardworking youths who are toiling day and night to see a better Nigeria.

It is shameful for thugs and hooligans to take the opportunity of a genuine agitation to launch a scathing attack on the Executive Governor of our State, Ogbeni Gboyega Oyetola and also embark on a looting spree of businesses within the metropolis, he added.

He then urged the security agencies to act professionally and within the confine of the law in fishing out the perpetrators of this dastardly act.

May I also reiterate my support and empathy with those genuinely calling for institutional reforms in our country, but allowing thugs, miscreants and criminals to hijack such a genuine call is totally condemnable and unacceptable, he ended.
