A community based group in Iwo Local Government of Osun state known as The Assemblites Club has started repairing some selected roads within Iwo, the headquarters of Iwo Local Government, Affairs TV reports.
Affairs TV gathered that the project kicked off with phase one on Sunday 19th July 2020, started with the repairs of the Towns main round about to Palace junction.
It was also learnt that the second phase of the project is expected to continue on Tuesday from Palace roundabout to Morodo junction.
Speaking to Affairs TV reporter, the project coordinator, Mr Mayowa Otun appreciated the Association of Okada Riders and Tricycle Riders Association in the town for their cooperation with club on the exercise.
He urged Motorists, commuters and Okada and Tricycle to ply alternative roads till Wednesday morning so the patches portion of the road would be durable and fit to use again.
A motorcycle rider, Kehinde Kazeem who spoke with our correspondent expressed his happiness on seeing that the project is being carried out, he then prayed Gods’ favour and blessings for the club.
The road repairs will stop close to Bowen University, according to the club.
