Guideline for the second phase of ease of lockdown in Osun


The State Government of Osun has released a new set of guidelines for the second phase of the gradual easing of lockdown in the State with details as stated hereunder:

  1. The dusk to Dawn curfew in the State is still in force, but will now take effect from 9:00pm to 5:00am daily.
  2. The State Government has approved that Civil Servants from Grade Level 7 above should resume work, and operate within normal office hours. Departments are expected to work out and alternate working hours for workers on Grade Level s 1 to 6.
  1. All major markets remain shut , while other markets would be opened. However, operators must ensure physical distancing and use of face masks, while also observing all other precautionary measures in accordance with the established protocols of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
  1. The State Government has approved the reopening of worship centres. However,  adherents of the two religions would only enjoy one hour of worship each on Friday and Sunday respectively, effective Friday, June 5, 2020.
  1. All land boundaries leading into the State of Osun remain closed.
  2. There is now movement everyday including Saturday until curfew time zone of between 9pm and 5am. In other words, the total lockdown earlier imposed on the State from Friday to Sunday has now been eased for the next 14 days in the first instance.
  1. Notwithstanding the easing of the lockdown, ban on political, public, religious and any kind of gatherings under whatever guise remains in force.
  2. All religious leaders are enjoined to constantly remind their followers that the fight against Covid-19 is not over& all hands must be on deck to support the fight against the pandemic.
  3. These new measures will be for two weeks in the first instance,that is until June 18,2020.
  4. The people of the State of Osun are enjoined to continually adhere to the directives of the State Government during the period of the lockdown, so that the State does not lose the gains it has so far recorded in the fight against the deadly Coronavirus in Osun.
