The Honourable Minister of Education, Mr Adamu Adamu has confirmed that the proposed Federal College of Education in Osun State will be sited in Iwo, Iwo local government area of the state, barring last minute change.

The House of Representatives has late last year passed the bill for the establishment of the Federal College of Education in the state.

The development has generated a lots if heat as several towns in the state have shown interest and agitated for its siting.

Some of the town who have shown interest include Ila-Orangun, Osogbo, Ikire, Ilobu, Iragbiji, Ikirun, Ifon-Orolu and Gbongan. They appealed to the governor and other stakeholders to consider their town.

However, Adamu last week during a meeting with a high political office holder from Osun, who has gone to lobby it for his community said the matter has been settled for Iwo.

According to a source, who was privy to meeting, told newsmen that the minister said “the College will be in Iwo. We have concluded it. It’s just waiting for presidential approval.

The source also confirmed that Adamu hinted that President Muhammadu Buhari may likely approve it this week
