The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), on Saturday, sent good wishes to a former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Nuhu Ribadu, who was in a joyous mood at the wedding of two of his sons.
Mahmud and Abubakar-Sadiq, both children of the former anti-graft czar, married Aminatu Ismaila and Fatima Jijiwa respectively at a colourful ceremony in Abuja on Saturday.
Buhari, in a goodwill message, said he wished the couples happiness and joy as they began a new phase in their lives.
He was represented at the event by his Chief of Staff, Mr Abba Kyari, according to a State House statement by Buhari’s media aide, Mr Garba Shehu.
“In the message delivered on his behalf by the Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, President Buhari thanked the former EFCC chairman for inviting him to the wedding and wished the new couples prosperity and excellent shared dreams,” the Presidency said.
“As they move ahead in life, I wish them happiness and joy,” it quoted the President as saying.
The Presidency gave a rundown of those who accompanied the presidential representative to the wedding.
It stated, “Those that accompanied Abba Kyari to the event were the State Chief of Protocol , Lawal Kazaure; Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media, Garba Shehu; Senior Special Assistant to the President on Domestic Affairs, Sarki Abba; and a Personal Assistant of the Presdient, Sabiu Tunde Yusuf.
“The Permanent Secretary, State House, Jalal Arabi, Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Ahmed Abubakar; and the Chief Security Officer’ Idris Ahmed, were also on the delegation.”
