In fulfilment of his campaign promises, Senator Adelere Oriolowo representing Osun-west Senatorial district has flagged off the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the dilapidated Iwo-Ejigbo road.
The event which took place today in Ejigbo local government area of Osun state had in attendance top political functionaries, traditional rulers, religious leaders, community members and APC party members.
The Senator in his speech appreciated the people of Ejigbo and environs for their support and said out of the two major promises he made during his campaign, he has come to fulfill one out of it with assuarance to fulfil the second one in no too distant time.
He said the economic importance of the road cannot be over emphasized and that’s what drives him to facilitate the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the road for the benefits of the people in his Senatorial district.
The Senator also said he has selected fifteen (15) people from the Senatorial district to be trained on the ‘technical know-how’ on how to rehabilitate roads before it gets detoriated beyond repair and this is in a bid to ensure good networks of roads in the Senatorial district.
Governor Gboyega Oyetola who was ably represented by the Deputy Chief of staff, Hon Abdulahi Binuyo commended Senator Oriolowo for being instrumental on how the road is getting a facelift. He applauded him for being the best among his peers. The Governor promised the people that the government won’t rest on his oars until the state reach an enviable height to the delight of all.
According to the state coordinator of FERMA in the state, Egnr Adeyemi Olaniyan, he gives assurances that the road will be completed in two months.
Among dignitaries at the event include the Ogiyan of Ejigbo land, Oba Oyeyode Oyesose Omowonuola, Commissioner for Works, Hon Omowaiye Oluremi, Special Adviser on Rural Development, Hon Mumini Olabamiji, other members of State executive council, and members of Osun state House of Assembly.
