Journalist wins House of Rep seat in Osun

A broadcast journalist in Osun State, Bamidele Salaam, has won the election into Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo Federal Constituency of Osun State.

Salaam, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), polled 46,944 votes to defeat the former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Mr Adejare Bello, who contested on the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC) who scored 44,866.ADVERTISEMENT

Until now, Bamidele Salaam was a journalist with the Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC) and served as Special Adviser on Media to former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola before he was elected as the chairman of Egbedore Local Government Area.
