Artiste turned actor turned politician, Bankole Wellington (Banky W) is the latest to be placed under fire for supporting the same stance as Joe Abah, former Director-General, Bureau of Public Service Reforms, Nigeria in the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Walter Onnoghen.
Abah incurred the wrath of the public after explaining why the presidency may not have been entirely wrong and ended it with “I am a non-practising lawyer and my law is a bit rusty.”
This infuriated members of the public who opined that he indirectly supported the position of the presidency and would have rather not spoken on the issue. However, all soon turned to Banky W who opined that the twitter thread is the most “unbiased” he has read and went on to give reasons why he thought so.
Banky W’s act did not sit well with the public. This is because as soon as he tweeted it, tweeps, with no sense of decorum attacked him and before he could explain himself again, it degenerated into a case of cyber-bullying with people referring to him as “Gorimapa Chris Brown” and Nivea roll-on.
